Sharpen your senses to the sights and sounds of nature!
  • Discover where, when, and how to watch wildlife responsibly
  • Learn how to choose and use binoculars
  • Learn how to use a range map and field guide
  • Interpret wildlife habitats and signs on a workshop nature walk

Wildlife Watch workshops are jam-packed with dynamic presentations, hands-on activities, and practical demonstrations—capped by a guided group nature walk where you'll try out your newly acquired viewing skills!

Wildlife Watch workshops are designed for individuals, families (children 10 or older), community groups, scouts, service organizations, and tourism professionals. And, at just four hours in length, a workshop easily fits into anyone's schedule! After all, wildlife learns to watch you—why not learn to watch wildlife!

Fitting into your budget as well as your time, Wildlife Watch workshops are just $15.00 per individual or family! Including all instruction, you receive "Certified Wildlife Watcher" cards, a Colorado Wildlife Viewing Guide, Second Edition (one per registration), a  Participant Handbook (also one per registration), and a free bird feeder and small bag of seed, courtesy of participating Wild Birds Unlimited stores. Find a workshop nearby and register—today!

Special group rates and programs are available; to inquire, write to wildlife.watch@state.co.us, or call 303/291-7258.

For educators: Some workshops are expanded to eight hours and qualify for 1/2 credit from the Colorado School of Mines (for an additional fee). For more about credit, go to the school's Teacher Enhancement Program Web pages. Look through the Wildlife Watch workshop schedule to find these for-credit offerings.
