About the Artist

Charles Black, a self-taught artist from Stillwater, Minnesota, uses artwork as a medium to convey his love for wildlife biology and the great outdoors.  He began his career as an artist and avid outdoorsman at a young age and has since devoted his life to wildlife management and research.  Charles’s depiction of the Greater Scaup, entitled “A Break In The Clouds”, was inspired by his love of duck hunting.  “On a Colorado lake during this overcast and cloudy day, a pair of Greater Scaup floats majestically, subtly illuminated by the soft rays of the sun.”
