2011 - 2012 Season Dates

New License Year - Licenses are valid April 1 to March 31 annually for small game, combination fishing and hunting, Colorado waterfowl stamp and habitat stamps. They can be purchased at any license agent, Division office, online or by phone at 1-800-244-5613.

License Requirements - Hunters must have a small game license, youth small game or combination license, federal duck stamp and a Colorado Waterfowl Stamp to hunt waterfowl.

Hunters are also required to call the Migratory Bird Harvest Information Program at (866) COLOHIP (265-6447) or register for HIP online before heading out into the field. Each caller will receive a confirmation number that must be written on the license for it to be valid.  For more on the HIP program, check out "Are You HIP."

For more information on license requirements and waterfowl hunting, see the 2011-2012 Waterfowl Regulations Brochure. Season dates for 2011-2012 were finalized at the August Wildlife Commission Workshop.

Walk-in Access:  Hunters, as of January 1, 2010, no longer need a special permit to hunt walk-in access lands.
