Over-the-Counter Licenses on Sale July 9

Photo by David Hannigan.General over-the-counter (OTC) big game and turkey licenses, as well as over-the-counter with cap licenses, will be available for purchase through the internet, telephone (1-800-244-5613), license agents and Parks and Wildlife offices on Tuesday, July 9 at 9 am.

Over-the-counter with cap licenses are sold for archery, muzzle-loading and rifle bear, as well as one unit for rifle elk. Once sales begin, the OTC Cap License List  will be updated every 15 minutes in an effort to continually inform hunters and license agents how many are left during the rush.

Please be sure to check season participation requirements for over-the-counter with cap bear licenses on page 58 of the 2013-2014 Big Game brochure. OTC maps are available on the Maps page under the "Big Game Hunting" section.

2013 Youth Cow Moose Hunt Opportunity

By David Hannigan.The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Hunter Outreach Program, in partnership with Silver Spur Ranches and Spur Outfitters, are offering a cow moose hunt for one youth hunter between the ages of 12 and 17 on September 13-15, 2013 near Walden Colorado.

The hunt will be a three day guided experience for one selected youth hunter and their parent. The hunt will begin on Friday with a trip to the shooting range, set up camp and pre-hunt scouting and will last until mid afternoon on Sunday. CPW will provide all food and lodging for the hunt.

All applications must be received  by 5:00 pm on August 5th.
