Released Fish Records  Printer friendly version Printer friendly version
(By Length)

Bart Cruikshank of Grand Junction took first place at the 2005 pike derby at Taylor Reservoir with this 41-1/2-inch northern weighing over 17 pounds. The Colorado Released Fish Records program recognizes the longest fish of a particular species that is caught-and-released by an angler, anywhere throughout the state of Colorado. The program works in conjunction with the Master Angler Program, which is a program that honors many Colorado anglers for their outstanding catches each year.  Every January, the Master Angler list is perused for fish that have exceeded the length of the longest fish in their category. This table is then updated annually for any records that have been broken.

In this program records are by length, as opposed to our other program, the fish records by weight, which does not allow for catch-and-release entries.

See the Master Angler brochure (pdf) for a list of qualifying lengths and more information.
