Project Learning Tree Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood

This workshop is geared towards early childhood home providers and centers in the NE Denver area. 

Integrate nature-based exploration, art, literature, math, science, music and movement, and outdoor play into early childhood education programs. Exploring nature is a complete sensory experience; early experiences with the natural world excite children's imaginations.

National Archery in the Schools BAI Training

 


Glenwood Springs, CO

BAI courses range in cost from free (if funding is available) to $40 per participant. Participants receive training materials and hands-on experience on the range.

Requirements to be able to participate in a Basic Archery Instructor (BAI) course:

  • Must be at least 18 years old;
  • Must be a Colorado-certified physical education teacher;
  • Take the BAI course. (8-12 hours);
  • Pass the BAI practical test and score at least 70% on the written test;
  • Graduates must complete and submit a BAI Graduate Information Form.

Exploring the Ecology of your Local Landscape








Day 1 - Cherry Creek
Day 2 - Four Mile Historic Park, Co 
Through the use of hands on inquiry-based lessons and modeling build a contextual framework for the study of water.  This two-day Workshop will expose teachers to local watershed issues and assets, connect educators to experts and field trip opportunities and emphasize the importance of Informal Science Centers all in a local historical context.  We will spend the first day along Cherry Creek where recently discovered evidence indicates prehistoric people lived between 6,500 to 1,800 years ago.  Day Two will find us at the Four Mile Historic Park, an engaging interpretive site where we will continue to explore how humans have lived in this place over the centuries and understand the cumulative impact of human actions on the watershed.  We will learn how communities have addressed complex watershed issues over time.
