Welcome to the Colorado Division of Wildlife’s new Web site! The Division is proud to release this latest tool in our ongoing effort to improve customer service for our customers and constituents. It is our belief that you will find the Division’s future home in cyber space much more convenient to navigate and more customer friendly.
As wildlife management continues to evolve in the 21st Century, tools that communicate and coordinate conservation information and efforts, such as the Internet, become more critical to protecting wildlife and its habitat and enhancing the public’s opportunity to enjoy it.
In 2004 alone the Division Web page received more than 4.5 million visits, demonstrating that the Internet has become one of our most important modes of communication with our customers and constituents. The Division staff is confident that the improvements we have made to this critical communication tool will improve the public’s awareness of issues facing Colorado’s wildlife and the people that enjoy it. We designed this site to interact with the latest technology and worked to ensure its ease of use by testing it with different types of users in the public sector. So far, all the data collected indicates that the new site is a tremendous success. Check out some of the many comments we recieved during our 3 week public review period:
"The overall image of the site is improved and was sorely needed. It now looks like those 'state of the art sites' with lots of directions and menu options for those who use it. Good job!" -Merton D. Leeper
"Much better! I can quickly find information that is important to me, without wading around a section hoping that it's in there somewhere. Examples: Careers with CDOW, Hunter Education classes. THANK YOU!" -Margaret Rothermel
"I think the sight looks great. I have been in multiple other game and fish sights and I would have to say this is one of the easiest to navigate. I feel it is important to be able to find the information that you are looking for quick and easy and this site does just that." -Donner Dean
